On July 24th, after the 10:00 service, the group from NPC who went on the Youth Mission Trip to western Kentucky last month sponsored the Fellowship Time and gave a presentation to share their experiences and thank the congregation for their support. It is us, the congregation, that needs to thank these youth for representing us, our church, our region, and the Spirit of the Body of Christ so energetically and sincerely on their trip.
We all knew we had a great group of youth (and youth leaders) at NPC, but I think all who were there would agree that it was a pleasure to be reminded. They had a well put together slide show and presented a beautiful picture of unity in their bright blue shirts, but it was the way each of them spoke of their experiences that was especially moving. When supporting a mission trip, the outcome we wish for is for needs to be met, relationships built, and the love of Christ shared, both for the people on the mission trip and those they are visiting. It was obvious as each person who went on the trip told us about the service projects they worked on, the stories of the people they met, and they way they bonded as a team that all these goals had been met. The combination of humility, empathy, and humor was inspiring.
Instead of trying to summarize all they shared we strongly encourage you to watch the video of their presentation:
