To say this has been an unusual summer for our youth would be an understatement. To see how things have been going, Darcy Nix, one of our two Christian education and youth coordinators, reached out to three of our youth members and their parents and would like to share their responses with you:

Zoey has had a VERY long summer break! She has had plenty of fun and LOTS of time relaxing and enjoying being 12 years old. She loves spending time with the family dog Suzy and has trained Suzy to sit and give hugs. Zoey plays volleyball for the Rabun-Gap Nacoochee School Volleyball team and so she has been practicing for the upcoming fall season. She has gotten to spend lots of time with her friend Mary, tubing and swimming. In June Zoey took an American Red Course Babysitters Course, so if you need a sitter or a mommy’s helper, just give her a call.

This summer has been wonderful. I’ve been doing a lot but mainly just working. I’m up at Unicoi Lodge working as a Zipline guide, and I am having a lot of fun and enjoying that very much. At the moment I am up in Kentucky hanging out with my family. This is my first vacation all summer, and I am enjoying it as much as I can. – Eli

Mary is having a great summer swimming, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with family and friends. She has enjoyed hosting her friends for spend-the-nights and visiting at their houses. One highlight was going to Pensacola in her family’s RV to visit with family. She is waiting for school and art classes to start again and looks forward to church starting back.
