Your Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) has been meeting weekly since June to write and finalize our church’s Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP). We are pleased to announce that we officially finished and submitted the MDP on Monday, August 28 th , and we await final approval from the Committee on Ministry (COM) representative from our Northeast Georgia Presbytery.
Are you confused yet by all these new acronyms? Don’t be! I can assure you that our committee is well-trained and well-versed in this new language, and we will handle understanding the acronyms and doing our best to communicate effectively and update you regularly.
With that, our next in-person update will be shared at the beginning of the September 10th service during Announcements. At that time, we will be another two weeks into the process, and we are hopeful that our update will be substantial in regards to where we are in the process now that the formalities and word-smithing is out-of-the-way.
Between the time you are reading this update in the first few days of September until you hear from us from the pulpit on September 10th , our committee will meet a couple more times to begin exploring the first round of matches. That’s right, the Church Leadership Connection (CLC) is a new platform that we will use as a matchmaker to pair us with pastors seeking a call who on paper match well with Nacoochee Presbyterian. It’s the work we will do within the CLC that gets us off the ground and narrows our search for us, but please know that there are other methods and ways (outside of the matchmaking CLC platform) that we will explore as we work to call the next pastor of Nacoochee Presbyterian Church.
We sincerely appreciate your patience with this process, and we are humbled by the trust you’ve given our committee to do this important work. Please continue to pray for our committee in the days, weeks, and months ahead as we pray daily for the clarity and the wisdom to do the work entrusted to each of us.
