Nacoochee Presbyterian participates in a program called the Youth Partnership. For those unfamiliar, it’s a collection of Presbyterian youth groups in the area that get together one Sunday each month for fellowship, Bible study, and fun activities. It currently includes the Nacoochee, Clarkesville, Cornelia, Cleveland, and Dahlonega Presbyterian youth groups.
The host church plans the Bible study and activity. This responsibility rotates from church to church each month. The last time Nacoochee hosted, we planned a scavenger hunt at a local corn maze – it was a great time! We’ll be hosting again on May 5th.
Additionally, the Youth Partnership organizes the regular mission trips our youth group participates in. The first Sunday I attended Nacoochee Presbyterian as Director of Christian Education, the youth group gave a presentation on their mission trip to bring water filters to rural communities in Panama. I remember thinking, “What an incredible group of young people.”
And that thought was reinforced as I was invited to get involved with the Youth Partnership. This is a group of kids that have built true bonds of friendship. They lift each other up, and make the world around them a better place with their sharp intellect and innate empathy. They truly embody the spirit of Nacoochee Presbyterian, and take the teachings of Christ to heart.
If you’re interested in getting to know these kids and helping out with the Youth Partnership, or the Nacoochee Presbyterian youth group, you can reach out to myself, Jennifer Thomas, or Ashley Brown-Lemley.
