We will resume our services in the style of the Taizé community on Wednesday, October 18th. Please note that we are moving the services to 5 pm this year.
Our Taizé services last about 50 minutes, dress is casual, and all are welcome to attend!!!
Taizé services incorporate sung prayer-chants – prayers or scriptures sung to simple, short melodies and harmonies. The duration of these songs is not timed nor the number of repetitions calculated ahead of time.
Another characteristic of Taizé worship is the incorporation of a period of silence. This takes place about 1/3 of the way into the service and provides a time of reflection before going into a period of corporate prayer, more songs, and a time to offer private prayer and reflection. Our worship space is beautifully lit with candles and icons and provides a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
