At its meeting on June 14, 2020, members of the NPC Session voted unanimously to continue the suspension of public worship services through July.
This action was recommended by the church’s Public Worship Taskforce. Appointed at the May 2020 Session meeting, that team has been charged with studying available information about the covid-19 pandemic and recommending ways we can sustain a clean, healthful environment for our church’s youth and adults. Task Force members are Gwen Aumann, Gary Bagley, Bob Prim, Cheryl Vandiver, and Debbielee Whelchel.
The Session has authorized the Task Force to continue meeting regularly to monitor the pandemic situation and has asked the group to make another report at the next stated meeting of the Session on July 12, 2020.
In a related action, the Session discussed the possibility of holding two outdoor fellowship events during July. These 6:00 pm gatherings, on July 11 and July 31, would be designed for full adherence to social distancing guidelines and other recommended public health practices. These events should be considered tentative while options are being explored, but please hold the dates and times until further information becomes available.
