Watering Help Needed. The new trees in the parking lot are now greening up. Except when it rains, they will need watering one or two times a week to keep them healthy and growing. Their first year in their new location is crucial. Also, our main church grounds will need regular watering during the hot months.
The Garden Angels need help with these tasks. They need volunteers who are willing to water for a week at a time—or more—during the summer. If you want to volunteer or learn more, please call or email Vi Vaughan. If the task seems a little too much to handle on your own, consider partnering with someone.
New Walkways. Two new walkways have been installed. Both provide improved access from the parking area. One leads from the stone steps to the existing sidewalk at the Fellowship Hall entrance. The other is near the highway and provides access to the church’s front entrance and the crosswalk to SNCA. Appalachian Landscaping was the contractor and did an excellent job.
Mulch. Please take note of the transformation of the parking lot islands. Gradually these spaces are being covered with mulch, not just to add beauty to our site but also to reduce maintenance needs, conserve moisture, and provide improved planting spaces. Special thanks to Patrick Evans for his hard work in making this happen.

Butterfly Garden. A butterfly garden is being established next to the Memorial Garden. It is a work in progress by the Earth Ministry Subcommittee. Watch that space and this one for future progress.
