Meet your Pastor Nominating Committee

For more information, please contact the PNC Chair, Jason Lemley, by emailing nacoocheePNC@gmail.com.
The PNC is meeting weekly to work through the first steps of the pastor search process governed by the presbytery. Our very first task is for us to complete an extensive document called the Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP). This document is designed to paint a picture of our church and what our congregation wants and expects from and in a pastor. Much of the content of the MDP is coming from our Mission Study Report and the Holy Cow survey, that was completed by our congregation in February.
We are very thankful to have that current document to draw from and build an accurate picture of our church. We are progressing nicely and close to finishing our MDP. The MDP will then go to our session for approval and then to the Committee on Ministry. The Committee on Ministry is a group of ministers in our presbytery. They will provide feedback and ultimately approve the Ministry Discernment Profile.
Prospective candidates fill out a similar document that is designed to paint an accurate picture of the candidate, what is important to them, and what they are looking for in a church. The presbytery then takes our document and using technology and logarithms, candidates’ forms are matched with our Ministry Discernment Profile to form a pool of pastors. At that point, our PNC we will start looking at individual resumes.
One of our goals is to keep you well informed with monthly updates. If you any questions or input, please seek out a committee member!
