Forty church members enjoyed getting together for a masked, socially distanced outdoor fellowship hour on July 11, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Since church services are still suspended, this outing gave folks a chance to gather in the church’s beautiful gardens in the shade to greet and visit with each other. Surprisingly, it was easy to recognize folks with their masks on. There was plenty of laughter and many smiles as people shared stories with one another.
A portion of the gathering was set aside for Bob Prim to affirm the election of Walter Daves to the Session. Jerry White, our clerk of Session, was involved as well. Time was set aside for prayers of the people to be shared aloud or silently. A beautiful variety of masks made by one of the women in our Convivio group were offered for a modest donation. Multiple birthdays were celebrated, with the “Happy Birthday” song being hummed rather than sung to maintain health safety. Throughout the event, Johnny Bailey applied his talents to shooting photos, a sampling of which are shown here.
