We are nearing the end of 10 months in the life of the church for 2023. It seems appropriate to review our financial state and challenges ahead for 2024.
So far in 2023, we have maintained a stable financial footing, in spite of in-person attendance being down from prior years. We are slightly under our projected contributions year to date but also under our spending projections. We have significant reserves that we have not needed to tap.

For 2024, we have some financial unknowns, mainly related to the possible arrival of a new minister with new salary and benefit requirements. Budgeting for 2024, is currently underway and it will be a challenge to try and project costs and contributions. Further, financial leadership in 2024 will require recruiting of new persons for key roles. The current elder serving as chair of the finance committee rotates from the Session and the treasurer has requested to retire. We also have a vacancy on the finance committee.
Not knowing the experience and skills of all NPC members, we are choosing to address these financial challenges with this appeal. Do you have an interest in our church finances and wish to explore the possibility of serving in some capacity?
If so, please contact Jennifer Herrera, chair of the nominating committee at jsl.herrera@gmail.com or Teresa Franklin, pastor and moderator of session at revteresafranklin@gmail.com.
