The book we will be reading in November will be The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah. Willene Keel will be leading the book discussion via zoom on Tuesday, November 15 at 7pm. She will send out a little teaser in the next newsletter and you will have about 3 weeks before we meet for the discussion, so plenty of time to read the book. We are already planning an event for the Book Club to meet in person. This will be on a Saturday so those that work can still attend. You will need to be a part of the group to get an invitation. Even the early planning is filled with lots of fun ideas for all of our readers.
Remember, for October, NPC Book Club will be discussing Diamond Eye on Tuesday, October 11. Susan Lockhart will lead the discussion. I hope you have time to read this book. If you are out of time to finish the book, read the summary or the book online. Look at multiple sources to learn about the characters. You do not have to answer any questions about the book if you want to just listen.
Our Zoom discussions are lively. Many ask why we meet on Zoom and in the evening. One reason is it is easier for those who work to meet in the evenings on Zoom. Another reason is members on vacation or who live far away can still participate. Many of us enjoy meeting after dinner, once we have finished our activities during the day, and can focus on the discussion of the book. During the pandemic Zoom allowed us to continue many activities that have been beneficial for our church community and the community in general. We hope you will give Book Club Zoom a try.
