NPC has welcomed a lot of new members since our last New Member Spotlight. Over the next few newsletters we will be trying to introduce them all.
Marti Garling and her husband, Rich, moved here from Illinois and Indiana respectively. Rich is a Vietnam vet. Marti is originally from a dairy farm near Syracuse, New York. Rich is retired from Ford and Marti is a retired little people teacher. Marti is enjoying the church and appreciates the way NPC keeps us together as a part of God’s family. She loves North Georgia, hiking, as well as history and city museums. She is always looking for people who share these interests. Camping in their tiny red van has enabled them to travel a lot. Marti was raised Catholic by her Irish American mother, but was drawn to her fathers Presbyterian Church.

Jim and Willene Keel moved to White County from Toccoa eight years ago. Jim recently retired from health care. Willene is a retired middle school teacher, who finished her career at North Habersham Middle School. The Keels enjoy spending time with their blended family of four daughters, three sons-in-law and eleven grandchildren. They also travel frequently where they spend time enjoying hiking, museums, botanical gardens, and music venues. Crafting, creating, cooking and reading fill Willene’s days. Jim enjoys riding his motorcycle, cooking, and hiking. He plans to learn pickleball as a new retirement hobby. The caring and welcoming community brought the Keels to NPC. After visiting for a time, they decided to officially join the fellowship. Jim is now a member of the choir, while Willene is on the fellowship committee and is helping to organize the Ladies’ Lunch Bunch.
