Ice Cream Social was a great big success!
Thank you churners Phil Franklin and Susan Lockhart for some yummy homemade ice cream and sorbet. All the ice cream, even some extra store-bought, was eaten. It was fun to socialize with others at church.
If anyone would like to schedule and plan the next Ice Cream Social feel free to do so. All you have to do is create a group to do the work and sign up for a day.

5th Sundays
In 2023 there are 5 fifth Sundays!
A fifth Sunday is a time for the congregation to bring food for a potluck at church following the service. Your dish can be appetizers, side dishes, fruit, vegetables, salads, roasted chicken, ham, pork, beef, seafood, sandwiches, dessert, and beverages like tea, lemonade, soda. There can be soups, stews, etc. The great thing is there is always a variety of food to taste and go back for more. We ask that you limit return trips until the fellowship team gets a plate. Please keep in mind our members and guests who may need gluten-free options, and please label your dish accordingly.
The church kitchen has everything to bake or make your dish at church except your ingredients. Instead of waiting for your dish to be cleaned, or worry if your crock pot will tip in the car, use one from the kitchen. There are also two ovens!
The 5th Sunday held in September was a makeup day for the January 5th Sunday. Gwen was unable to lead the event, so the reschedule date was set for September. Everyone had a wonderful time and many went back for seconds and thirds! This event was hosted by the Fellowship Committee. Thank you to the many volunteers that day.
5th Sunday potlucks have had many successes and fun times but our fellowship team has found some ways to continually improve 5th Sundays so everyone can have the same experience. Look for some guidance and some changes for the next 5th Sunday which will be on Sunday, October 29 after the 10:00 service. The last 5th Sunday is Sunday, December 31, but this date will move to a Sunday in November. More details coming in the November newsletter.
Would you like to sign up to be on a fellowship team?
Fellowship Teams are different than the Fellowship Committee. A fellowship team would consist of 8 or more people who sign up each month to do Fellowship. First Sunday or Third Sunday teams are available. Let me know if you would like to participate in something new for fellowship.
