The September meeting of the church’s Lunch Bunch was held at Fresco’s Restaurant in Clarkesville. Always a comfortable place, the restaurant rolled out its welcome mat for the 28 people who attended. The 21 women dined in the front private room, while the seven men were at a place of their own near the back of the main restaurant.
Receiving generous-sized servings is a big plus at Fresco’s. Individuals order whatever they wish from a varied menu, and the food is freshly prepared in a matter of minutes.
You may be wondering why men go to the Lunch Bunch meeting, which was originally formed as a women’s group? The answer: they are known as drivers—they have a job to do in providing transportation to the meeting for spouses or friends. In most cases they also want a good meal! Once men started going, the tradition has continued and the number of men attending has increased.

The next meeting of the Lunch Bunch will be Wednesday, October 16, at 11:30 am at Sweet Breads Restaurant in Demorest. Contact Delene Lee (delenelee2014@gmail.com) at least two days before if you wish to attend. All are welcome. —Jasper Lee
