The fifth in our series of Lenten programs on April 10 at 5:30 pm will conclude with a presentation that connects organic farming, health, and the environment. Steve Whiteman, a local organic-regenerative farmer will discuss the following questions:
- What are the basics of organic farming methods?
- How does eating greens promote health?
- How does organic farming and buying locally grown food help the environment and reduce our carbon footprint?
- What is a CSA and the on-line organic market?
Steve is one of several local farmers in our area who supports health and nutrition by using organic and regenerative farming methods that produce toxin-free fruits and vegetables while replacing microbes in the soil, thus reducing carbon output.
Come to the church to hear Steve and learn how organic-regenerative farming is good for humans and for the environment, and where to find foods produced using these methods. The presentation will be followed by a simple soup supper.
