Plans are well under way for a trip to further our partnership with the Association of Mam Christian Women for Development and the Mayan Clinical Center in the western, mountainous region of Guatemala.
Thirteen people are scheduled to take part in the June 18 – 27 trip. They will attend the inauguration of the expanded clinic and assembly hall, help with two health fairs for women and children, and visit several villages where microloans, filters, latrines, and stoves are making a difference in people’s lives.
The group will be visiting a church where 39 of our church members have prayer partners. More prayer partners are needed, and those interested are urged to send a picture or card with a message or Bible verse with our church’s travelers: Dottie and Stan Foster, Joanne Steele, Rebecca Shedd, and Bill Owen.
A fundraising supper will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at 5:30 pm featuring a presentation with photographs from last year’s trip. The funds will be used in Guatemala to support the health fairs, nutrition projects, and reconstruction of the filter and latrine workshop that was severely damaged in a recent storm.
