A joint “Convivio Latinoamericano” and ESL Class meeting was held on March 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cornelia. Mr. Dustin Baxter, an immigration lawyer, spoke about the current situation and answered questions in Spanish and English.
The next meeting will be on May 14 at 3 pm at the same location since the church is in the center of the Latin American community. Volunteers from Nacoochee Presbyterian will continue to be involved, especially with the children.
In the Minute for Mission on Sunday, March 26th Dottie Foster presented a scholarship from NPC to April Figueroa to help with her study of Accounting at Kennesaw State University. We also celebrated her mother, Carmen Figueroa, receiving her US citizenship.
