[Editor’s Note: The following message was posted before the decision was reached to suspend all gatherings at the church through April 5, 2020. The dates of the class sessions will be adjusted accordingly.]
We will be trying something new this season of Lent. Starting on Wednesday, March 25, at 5:30 pm we will conduct an intergenerational series of classes on what it means to be a member of Nacoochee Presbyterian Church.
These classes will begin with a short video followed by panel reactions and discussions of the material presented. Topics will include: “Brainwashing” (what is confirmation?), “Keeping It Real” (the Sacraments), “No good, dirty sinner” (human sinfulness), “Blessed to be a Blessing,” and other topics to be determined.
These 40-minute classes will be followed by a simple supper of soup and bread. I will then meet for 15 minutes in my office with the younger folks who attend to talk about what we saw and heard.
These classes are for everyone!
For people of all ages!
For both long-time and short-time members of the church!
Even for those not sure if they want to ever be a member of the church!
They are truly for everyone!
The classes will meet at 5:30 pm on Wednesdays, March 25, and April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 5:30 pm. (For the April 8 class, we’ll attend that evening’s Taizé service followed by a simple meal, so the class will run longer, from 6:00 to 7:45 pm.) Those who would like to join the church will be invited to do so on May 3.
Peace,
Bob
