Saturday, October 14 at 4:00 pm is Fall Fellowship Potluck at NPC.
This event will happen rain or shine. There will also be lots of fun, laughter, stories to tell, new people to meet, children playing, good food and music (Musicians, please bring your instruments and plan to jam!) inside or outside. Please bring your favorite dishes to share with everyone. Last year’s Fall Fellowship was a wonderful feast, and we hope this year will be the same.
This will be a gathering to continue the tradition of longtime members Richard and Jimmy Tinius. Every year they would open up their home and hearts to NPC. They would invite the entire congregation for Brunswick Stew! It was the highlight of the year for many and the perfect time of year with the cooler temperatures in October to gather together. Many like ourselves would plan each year to attend, rain or shine, head over to the Tinius house, peel potatoes or stir the stew and stay afterwards to clean up. Just thinking about those days makes my mouth water and I can see everyone in attendance. It just makes me smile and remember those happy times. After dinner, there was endless talking as no one wanted to leave and the children were playing on the grounds. The musicians always came and played until dinner, ate, visited and played some more later on. Those were fun times and not to be forgotten. The baton has been passed now to Gwen Aumann, and she has created Fall Gathering at NPC.
Ladies Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18 at 1:00 pm in the fellowship hall. Be thinking of what you would like to bring to the luncheon. A sign up will be in the Fellowship hall. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, desserts, beverages, set up helpers and clean up helpers will be on the list. We hope you can attend and please invite guests to attend.
Would you like to lead or co-lead with someone to plan to go out to eat at a restaurant or to eat at church. NPC used to have a lunch bunch group. The person who planned the monthly get together times has moved away. Perhaps you or you and another person would consider leading this wonderful group. I have enjoyed creating a ladies luncheon but it is time for me to pass the baton to someone else.
5th Sunday potluck will be on Sunday, October 29 following the service. We are planning something new for this potluck and others in the future.
