The June meeting of the church’s Book Club featured a review of The Stone Diaries presented by club member Pat Warbington. The book was written by Carol Shields in 1993.
Published in Canada, The Stone Diaries won a Pulitzer Prize for fiction. It has been one of the most successful and acclaimed novels of our time. A fictionalized autobiography of Daisy Goodwill Flett, the book presents a subtle but effective portrait of every woman reflecting on an unconventional life. It is a story with many themes.
The next NPC Book Club meeting will be Monday, August 12, at 2 pm in Fellowship Hall. The book to be reviewed is Educated: A Memoir, by Tara Westover. Ann Gillespie will be the discussion leader.
