The November meeting of the NPC Book Club featured a review of the book “Ripples,” by Jennifer Lew and published by Tortoise Shell Books on Amazon in 2016. Club member Dottie Foster served as discussion leader.
Lew is the daughter-in-law of NPC members Dottie and Stan Foster. The book tells the story of a Boston newspaper reporter, Ariella Richardson, who interviewed cancer researcher Sam Becker. The story grows from that simple beginning into an intriguing 374-page novel.
A special feature of the program was the use of Zoom Video Conferencing to provide the author, Jennifer Lew, a virtual presence at the meeting. This technology gave club members an opportunity to hear directly from the author without her traveling to the meeting. The technical details were worked out by the Fosters.

The next NPC Book Club meeting will be Monday, December 9, at 2:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. The book to be reviewed is Before We Were Yours, by Lisa Wingate. Claire Hiscox will be the discussion leader. Everyone is welcome at Book Club meetings. For more information, contact Delene Lee at delenelee2014@gmail.com.
